Releases Keep Getting Easier
In the beginning, upgrading to a new release of Sumac required you to copy files from our distribution package onto each user computer. We greatly improved the process last September by making Sumac downloadable from Sumac.com, but we still retained distinct major releases (3.0, 3.1, 3.2) and you decided when to upgrade from one release to the next.
Recently, we have further modified our approach. As enhancements are added, minor releases occur. Instead of a major new release every six months, there is a minor release every few weeks. This enables us to respond rapidly to requests for enhancements.
In order to keep you apprised of the enhancements being added to Sumac, we will occasionally produce Release Notes, the way we used to for every major release. Click here to see notes about enhancements to Sumac since release 3.2 in September 2009. Click here to review all release notes for the last year.
Online Sumac Forum?
Some Sumac users have suggested that we should create an online
Sumac forum, so they can swap advice and suggestions. We would like to
know what you think.Would you use an online forum? What would you expect of such a forum?
Would you like a LinkedIn.com group, a Yahoo group, a Facebook group?
Let us know if you have any interest or opinions on this subject. Thanks
Creative Trust Joins the Sumac Community
Creative Trust provides the financial and planning skills that creative theatre, music and dance companies need to meet today’s complex challenges, rewarding their hard work and achievements with working capital grants. Creative Trust was using a custom-built Access database before moving up to Sumac. We are delighted to be able to help Creative Trust as it helps dozens of performing arts organizations.Back Up Your Data
We have said it before. It bears repeating. In the last month, one Sumac client had its server hit by a virus, another had a hard disk failure. In both cases, with a lot of anguish and a lot of work, the data has been recovered.
Don't put yourself through this stress. Back up your data. Click here for information about how. Contact us if you aren't sure.
